Life Coaching

At Heartland we believe that people are not broken, and do not requiring fixing. We are all on a personal journey through this life. Sometimes we need support, encouragement and guidance along the way.

Coaching is a conversation like no other.  In its simplest form, coaching is a relationship between two people, the coach and the client. The role of a life coach is to help you overcome fear and self-doubt. In my life coaching work I focus on helping you to set meaningful goals so you can create a life that is both authentic and fulfilling.

In working with clients, my goal is to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be. That does not mean I take responsibility for your life, instead the alliance we form allows me to gently, but steadily, give all the power back to you, the client.  I believe that you know the answer to what is holding you back the answers is just obscured, often hidden deep down inside.

Life coaching is effective because we focus on finding the right questions (my job) and then we employ techniques to empower you to find the answers (your job). Every day we make choices to do or not do many things. These choices may range from profound to trivial and each one has an effect that makes our lives more fulfilling or less fulfilling, more balanced or less balanced, that makes our process of living more effective or less effective. Life coaching helps you learn how to make choices that create an effective, balanced and fulfilling life.

In 2016 Life Coach Spotter released a highlyin formation and intersting infographic regarding the effectiveness of life coaching. Hard data was drawn from the International Coaching Federation, the most reputable coaching organization in the world (and other sources).  This research showed that for those who have used a coach:

  • 80% improved their self-confidence
  • 72% improved their communication skills
  • 57% improved their time management skills

I obtained my Life Coaching Diploma in 2002 with Hart Life Coaching. My life coaching philosophy has evolved over the intervening years and is in alignment with the philosophies of logotherapy.  Logotherapy was developed by Viktor Frankl, and is founded on the belief that human nature is motivated by the search for a life purpose; logotherapy is the pursuit of that meaning for one’s life. Viktor Frankl’s theories were heavily influenced by his personal experiences of suffering and loss in Nazi concentration camps

A life coaching session usually lasts 60 minutes and costs $80 per session. A discount of 20% is available for multiple sessions (4 or more) that are booked and paid for in advance.  Sessions are conducted via Skype or Zoom, telephone or in person.
